Players: Code of Conduct (U18s)
It is important everyone behaves themselves when playing football.

As a player, you have a big part to play. That's why The FA is asking every player to follow a Respect Code of Conduct.

When playing football, I will:
-
Always do my best, even if we're losing or the other team is stronger.
-
Play fairly - I won't cheat, complain or waste time.
-
Never be rude to my team-mates, the other team, the referee, spectators or my coach/team manager.
-
Do what the referee tells me.
-
Shake hands with the other team and referee at the end of the game.
-
Listen to my coach/team manager and respect what he/she says.
-
Talk to someone I trust, for example my parents or the club welfare officer if I'm unhappy about anything at my club.

I understand that if I do not follow the code, action may be taken.

Endeavour Value
What do we mean by Endeavour?
We will aim to achieve the highest possible standards to ensure that the individual needs of young footballers are at the heart of all our activities, act as a positive role model in all our behaviours. To promote and support positive outcomes related to health, education and holistic development.

Identity Colour: Hardworking Harlequin
The hardworking harlequin colour is representative of the West Hallam Harlequins of the 1950s and 60s who symbolised an era of success for the club. The team would go onto win the Derby Divisional Cup in 1964. We link this colour to our value of endeavour as like the Harlequins who achieved a sustained period of success, we as a club aim to achieve the highest standards and promote positive outcomes in all aspects of young footballers' development, including health, education, and holistic growth which define success for the club in the modern day.

How do we implement our Endeavour value?
-
We will endeavour to place fun and enjoyment over winning.
-
West Hallam Juniors will create an environment that encourages players to try new things such as positions or skills.
-
Everyone will represent the club in a positive way by adhering to club polices, and codes of practice. Managers will be clear of the expectations and display high standards.
-
The Club will provide ongoing training and development opportunities for coaches to ensure they can meet the highest standards in youth football coaching.
-
Create opportunities for players to engage in off-field activities such as leadership workshops, team-building exercises, or community service projects to foster holistic development.
-
Everyone will place the teams needs above my own.
-
Opportunities for players to get into coaching with the Club’s Junior Coach Education Programme (JCEP).
-
Give opportunities for players to lead during training and matches. At older age groups teams might wish to appoint a captain who will be delegated with responsibilities for managing the ‘dressing room’, leading warm up and being a role model etc.
-
Coaches will share our positive experiences – at every club meeting time will be dedicated to ‘manager highlights’ to talk about achievements in their teams.
-
We will form partnerships with other clubs outside of England to create opportunities for our teams travel abroad on team trips such as our connections with Cabinteely and St Josephs in Ireland.
